Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Fellow to join our team at Houston Methodist Academic Institute. As a Clinical Research Fellow, you will be responsible for conducting clinical research of a complex nature, planning, executing, and completing clinical research projects under the supervision of a Principal Investigator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct patient contact supporting the performance of clinical protocols.
  • Enroll subjects into prospective studies and obtain informed consent from patients and legally authorized representatives in accordance with hospital policy and the study protocol.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, interprofessional research team, fellowship stakeholders, and healthcare professionals regularly for problem resolution and/or achievement of research study goals.
  • Serve as a mentor and provide educational and research oversight for other learners in the applicable department or research lab.
  • Role model effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication, which includes active listening and teaching, assisting in development of such skills.
  • Provide contributions towards improvement of department scores for employee engagement, i.e., peer-to-peer accountability.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited medical school, Pharm D or Doctoral degree (PhD) in a medical field.
  • Clinical Research Fellow 0 - None, Clinical Research Fellow - One year of post-terminal experience, Clinical Research Fellow - Two years of post-terminal experience, Clinical Research Fellow - Three years of post-terminal experience, Clinical Research Fellow - Four years of post-terminal experience.
