Middlesex Health is seeking a MedSurg Float Registered Nurse with a strong background in various nursing disciplines. This role involves providing care across multiple units, including MedSurg, Telemetry, Ortho, Surgical, Oncology, and Hospice.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in diverse settings, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Unit Flexibility: Float between different units as required, adapting to the needs of each department.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and enhance outcomes.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Certifications: Current BLS certification is mandatory.
- Licensure: A valid Connecticut nursing license is required prior to starting.
Shifts available are either 8 or 12 hours, commencing at 7 AM. Candidates should be prepared to work every other weekend and alternate holidays.
Unit Specifics- Patient Ratios: 1:5 to 1:7, depending on the unit.
- Orientation: Floor-specific orientation will be provided over two shifts.
- Support Services: Access to an IV team and nurse resources available 24/7 for assistance.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to manage high-acuity patients, including those with complex medical needs. Flexibility, empathy, and compassion are essential traits for success in this role.
