CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Medication Management Specialist (MMS) operates under the direct oversight of the Director of Pharmacy Operations. The MMS is a vital component of the clinical management team, primarily tasked with overseeing medication inventory, storage, distribution, quality assurance, order processing, and customer support.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Oversees the intake of medication inventory and samples at designated clinic(s), including patient-specific medication packages.
2. Manages medication refill processes in collaboration with contract pharmacies.
3. Conducts order entry for medication services at the clinic dispensary, when applicable.
4. Completes clinical note documentation related to the medication utilization process.
5. Addresses non-clinical medication management and customer inquiries or complaints.
6. Generates inventory analytical reports to facilitate month-end business closing.
7. Demonstrates flexibility to travel to other clinic locations within the regional area.
8. Executes other related responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. This list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be expanded to include additional tasks as necessary.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or GED certificate.
Certification and Licensing:
Pharmacy Technician Registration
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
Experience:
2-4 years of experience in pharmacy operations, with preferred experience in 340B and hospital settings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
  • Strong customer service orientation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Windows Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic understanding of computer systems
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
