Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Anesthesia Technician to join our team. As a Certified Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our anesthesia department.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Anesthesiologists and Residents: Collaborate with anesthesiologists and residents to provide support during procedures, including preparing patients for anesthesia administration, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with patient positioning.
  • Stocking and Supply Management: Maintain inventory of anesthesia supplies, medications, and equipment. Ensure all necessary supplies are readily available for procedures and restock items as needed.
  • Room Setup and Turnover: Prepare operating rooms and anesthesia workstations for procedures by setting up equipment, supplies, and monitoring devices. Ensure rooms are clean, organized, and properly equipped for each case.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on anesthesia equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Assistance with Blood and Medication Transport: Assist with the safe transport of blood products, medications, and other critical supplies between departments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a certified anesthesia technology program.
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in anesthesia or surgical services.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia equipment, supplies, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and equipment.
  • Certification as a Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.).

Working Conditions:

  • This position involves working in a fast-paced hospital environment, including operating rooms, procedure rooms, and patient care areas.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule.
  • Must adhere to hospital policies and procedures regarding safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
