Electrical Estimator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team at Jobot. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for managing and developing estimating activities for our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, staff, organize, direct, and control activities relating to estimating activities.
  • Manage and perform overall activities relating to estimates, including coordinating engineering efforts, estimating costs, acquiring material quotes, and obtaining permit costs.
  • Routinely meet with appropriate parties to verify that estimates are being developed in an accurate manner and reflect actual costs.
  • Develop means to track and ensure that estimate system information is accurate and current.
  • Coordinate with client, architect, engineering, and project team to develop design build proposals.
  • Ensure that proper and accurate information is available and being utilized for company estimates.
  • Provide input to develop methods and procedures to ensure consistency in company estimating efforts.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, job planning meetings, job progress meetings, and provide estimates for projects as required.
  • Coordinate with project management team handoff meetings to ensure that proper and accurate documentation is being provided in this turn over process and communicate this information in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Ability to manage and review subcontractors and vendor's bids, proposals, and Bill of Materials.
  • Knowledgeable with construction documents, including the ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of the construction process.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Programs and computer knowledge.
  • Experience working with estimating software programs.
  • Knowledge of electrical design and engineering.
  • Ability to provide layout and design of electrical systems and associated cost.
  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
