Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at Christus Health. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis of cancer and other disease processes by accurately evaluating cytologic samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate cytologic samples for the diagnosis of cancer and other disease processes
  • Provide accurate and timely results to healthcare professionals
  • Communicate complex data to patients and families
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective sample processing
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or related field (Associate's degree with completion of an accredited Cytology program accepted)
  • CT(ASCP) or equivalent certification
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
  • Experience in cytology preferred
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a laboratory setting with exposure to biohazardous and radioactive materials, sharp needles and blades, and infectious diseases. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
