Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as a Power Generation Systems Tester. This role involves testing and analyzing power generation systems to ensure they meet industry standards and regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests and analyze data to identify potential issues with power generation systems
  • Work with engineers and testing personnel to develop and implement test plans and procedures
  • Apply conventional engineering practices to analyze schematics, designs, and specifications
  • Conduct specific tests or experimental procedures, selecting and adapting or modifying electrical power generation and distribution test procedures as needed
  • Operate and transfer information from data acquisition equipment in support of reliability and performance testing of electrical power generation and distribution equipment
  • Coordinate efforts necessary to ensure testing is accomplished in accordance with appropriate and approved test plans, manuals, policies, and regulations
  • Install and operate sensitive data collection instrumentation, mobile power generation system devices, and maintain equipment necessary to collect, process, store, or obtain test-related data in accordance with appropriate test plans, manuals, policies, and regulations
  • Perform one or a combination of typical duties, such as proper power up/shut down of load bank operational procedures, setup of voltage and frequency configurations, and fault resets
  • Establish circuit interrupter, maximum power, fuel consumption, and other specialized tests and process data in accordance with well-defined methods and designated formulas
  • Present various test data in accordance with established methods

Requirements

  • Must have 3 years of applicable experience or an Associate's Degree and 1 year of applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 2 years of applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and 1 year of applicable experience
  • Shall possess basic computer skills
  • 80% of all levels combined shall possess a license to operate forklift(s) and other required support equipment
  • 50% of all levels combined shall possess Overhead Bridge Crane operator license
  • Shall possess Crane Car Operator license
  • 10% of all levels combined shall possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • 50% of all levels combined shall be Respiratory Protection qualified, to include medical screening, fit checks, and Respiratory Protection Training, as dictated by Mission requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment
