Position Summary

The Railcar Maintenance Specialist is tasked with providing on-site support and traveling to various job locations within the designated area. This role involves executing comprehensive repair and maintenance operations on tank cars. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership capabilities and prioritize safety in all tasks.

  • Railcar Maintenance: Adhere to current repair protocols, conducting thorough inspections to ensure compliance and executing necessary repairs.
  • Client Relations: Strive to meet and exceed customer expectations, ensuring satisfaction with all services rendered.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete all required documentation, including invoicing, inspection reports, and work orders.
  • Certification Maintenance: Maintain all relevant certifications, including tank car welding, and demonstrate a solid understanding of AAR regulations.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in basic railcar repairs and inspections.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated welding skills with a commitment to continuous improvement in railcar repair knowledge.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Emphasis on welding proficiency.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stoop for extended periods and transition between kneeling and standing.
  • Must be capable of wearing a respirator and meet specific grooming requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from ground level.
  • Capability to climb ladders and perform tasks at elevated heights.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and fit through openings as small as 20 inches in diameter.
  • Must successfully pass a company physical examination.
