We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at Penn State University. As a member of our Digital Foundry team, you will work on designing, developing, and maintaining advanced software solutions for smart manufacturing systems.
This role requires collaboration with stakeholders to integrate automation and control systems, work closely with the Digital Foundry Senior Manager Projects & Technology and Engineering staff to develop and execute digital manufacturing technologies and solutions for local manufacturers, and propose and implement new features, improvements, and updates to enhance functionality and usability of key manufacturing operations management tools, databases, and integration of smart manufacturing connected systems.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain advanced software solutions for smart manufacturing systems.
- Integration and Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate automation and control systems.
- Software Development: Propose and implement new features, improvements, and updates to enhance functionality and usability of key manufacturing operations management tools, databases, and integration of smart manufacturing connected systems.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, software engineering or equivalent and 3+ years of industrial manufacturing experience in digital / smart technology and integrated IT/OT systems are required for this position.
