Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and evaluate data to identify control deficiencies, accounting inaccuracies, fraudulent activities, or non-compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate and strategize various phases of engagements, manage budgets, track performance against projections, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of work papers and financial statements.
- Oversee audit planning, execution, and reporting; prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- Contribute to the Firm's newsletters and industry publications through research and writing initiatives.
- Act as the Firm's primary representative on engagements, assuming managerial responsibilities when necessary.
- Take full ownership of specific engagement components and ensure their successful completion.
- Utilize the Firm's resources and analytical skills to make effective decisions and solve problems.
- Implement risk management strategies as directed, identifying areas of exposure and participating in discussions to mitigate risks.
- Engage in Firm marketing and recruitment activities.
- Stay updated on professional standards and regulations.
- Actively participate in performance management processes.
- Manage teams and functions through skills such as coaching, decision-making, problem-solving, strategic planning, delegation, leadership, and team building.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including mentoring programs.
- Complete CPA Exam, if applicable.
- Travel to client locations as required, typically ranging from 15-20% of the time.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution (minimum of 150 college credits required).
- Must hold a CPA license or be eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
- 2-6 years of relevant experience in public accounting preferred.
- Experience in data mining and SEC reporting is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards to effectively supervise staff and resolve engagement issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong listening abilities.
- Effective time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Flexibility to work on diverse assignments and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently while exercising professional judgment and applying specialized accounting knowledge.
