Position Overview:

The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of all production and property assets. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment across various systems, including electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs (planned, unplanned, emergency) on production, processing, and packaging equipment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections to assess equipment reliability and performance.
  • Interpret technical documents, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to execute necessary maintenance and service.
  • Assist in the installation of new machinery.
  • Support operators with training and troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Complete work orders promptly while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in the execution of duties.
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments and management regarding any issues that may affect production efficiency.
  • Document all repairs accurately and maintain compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Stay informed about new products, equipment, technology, and techniques.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Anticipate parts requirements and follow proper purchasing procedures.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Adhere to DFA's good manufacturing practices (GMP) and corporate regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from a trade or technical school in relevant fields is preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or related fields, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with various equipment maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and process control.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
