As a key referral center, we provide care for some of the most severely ill patients not only in the region but across the state.
The MICU fosters a collaborative, multi-disciplinary atmosphere emphasizing high-quality care and evidence-based practices.In this dynamic environment, Patient Care Technicians play a crucial role in minimizing patient injury risks by focusing on safe patient handling.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), you will perform specific patient care tasks to ensure the safety and comfort of patients. You will also contribute insights to assist the RN in planning and executing patient care strategies. In emergency situations, you will respond according to established protocols. Continuous education and self-improvement are encouraged, and adherence to the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence is expected in all interactions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
To qualify, candidates must meet one of the following:
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (or equivalent titles such as Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician) that fulfills the same role.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program, with or without prior experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a role such as NA, PCT, PAT, or similar.
- Current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
- Foreign-trained and licensed RNs who have relocated to the United States without a Michigan RN license.
