As a key member of our transportation practice, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing complex bridge structures, working closely with a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Analysis: Develop and execute complex engineering tasks independently and in a team environment, ensuring design quality and accuracy within budget and scope.
- Task Leadership: Serve as a task lead and provide oversight for structural bridge design and associated tasks, including geometrics and layout, steel and concrete superstructures, foundations, bridge hydraulics, and construction engineering.
- Technical Expertise: Apply theoretical knowledge and technical experience to tackle uncommon and complex structural configurations, mentoring others in the process.
- Project Collaboration: Participate in project team meetings and presentations, including presentations to key project stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis in structural engineering. Master's degree with an emphasis in structural engineering strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years related experience, 10 years preferred, in a variety of engineering projects.
- Technical Skills: Advanced technical proficiency, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving ability. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required, with Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) or on-track to take the SE exam desirable.
- Software Proficiency: Extensive experience designing steel plate girder and prestressed concrete girder bridges, with proficiency in software such as LEAP, MDX, RISA, MIDAS, or equivalent.
- CADD Software: Knowledge of CADD software, including Bentley MicroStation.
