We are seeking a full-time officer available to work every Wednesday through Saturday from 3 PM to 11 PM. The candidate must be capable of fulfilling all four shifts each week.

Compensation is set at $20.00 per hour.

Position Overview
As a security officer, you will monitor and report on activities and incidents at the designated client site, ensuring the protection of property, personnel, and sensitive information. Regular patrols will be conducted to identify irregularities, inspect security systems, and detect unauthorized individuals. You will maintain order and enforce site regulations as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct foot patrols of the assigned area, checking for safety hazards, security breaches, and unauthorized individuals.
  • Document all activities and prepare reports as required, ensuring clear and accurate communication.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to clients, guests, and visitors.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, preventing unauthorized access and directing individuals as needed.
  • Report incidents, suspicious activities, or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to security alarms and emergencies.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all interactions.
  • Secure evidence and manage the scene in case of incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with property removal policies and client standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned, relevant to the site.
  • Adhere to the GSE Security Officer Standards of Conduct and the DCJS Code of Ethics.
  • Complete necessary training to maintain DCJS registration and access to client systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.; prior experience in a related field is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in military, law enforcement, or private security is advantageous.
  • Active registration in private security with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is preferred.
  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED is a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services registration.
  • Must pass a drug test; GSE does not employ individuals who test positive for substances.

Work Environment

This position operates within a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment and security tools.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include regular walking, observing, and responding to emergencies. While primarily active, some sedentary tasks may be required.
