Job Overview

LMI is seeking a highly skilled Acquisition Systems Engineer to support a federal program management office (PMO) responsible for planning, acquiring, and managing the deployment and operation of technology and capabilities to ensure national security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide full lifecycle systems engineering support to programs and projects, ensuring seamless execution from Program of Record (PoR) establishment to program awards, deployment, operation, and sustainment.
  • Lead or support the development of engineering and project plans, including Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) Tailoring Plans, and Functional Requirements Documents (FRD).
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to define user stories, streamline program priorities, and manage the product backlog.
  • Ensure user stories are ready for development, with accurate acceptance criteria, and provide technical support for SELC technical gate reviews.
  • Participate in IPTs and Systems Engineering work groups, perform trade studies, and participate in program-level review boards.
  • Support or lead the planning, execution, data collection, evaluation, and assessment of system acceptance tests, technical demonstrations, and other technology and/or systems evaluation efforts.
  • Maintain comprehensive awareness of program and contract progress, enabling informed decision-making.
Requirements
  • Senior Level: 10+ years of relevant experience and a MS degree in systems engineering or a related discipline.
  • Mid Level: 3-10 years' experience and a BS or MS degree in systems engineering or a related discipline, with in-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) BI.
