Position OverviewThe role involves delivering comprehensive psychiatric support to patients of various age groups, including adults, adolescents, and children. The counselor will be responsible for developing and executing therapeutic strategies tailored to individual patient needs and treatment objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Milieu Therapy: Engage with assigned patients through therapeutic interactions, collaborating with nursing staff to establish effective treatment plans and participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct initial psychological evaluations and maintain ongoing assessments of patients' mental health status, ensuring a supportive and safe environment.
- Supportive Care: Provide assistance with daily living activities, facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities, and promote positive social interactions among patients.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress, including mental status updates and significant interactions, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Family Support: Offer guidance and education to family members regarding the patient's treatment and progress, collaborating with external agencies as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or a related field is preferred.
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are encouraged to apply.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
The position is set within a patient care environment, where staff may encounter challenging situations requiring crisis intervention skills. Regular walking and standing are integral to the role, ensuring active engagement with patients.
