RPG Programmer

United Systems and Software (USSI) is seeking a skilled RPG Programmer to join our team in Lake Mary, Florida.

In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and enhancing existing applications within the insurance sector. Your expertise in RPG programming will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of these critical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing support for existing applications, including debugging and resolving issues.
• Develop and implement new features to enhance application functionality.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Document all programming changes meticulously, adhering to USSI's established procedures.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IBM iSeries developer.
• Expert-level proficiency in RPGILE and RPG free programming languages.
• Strong understanding of DDS, CL, and Spooled files.
• Proven ability to analyze project requirements and conduct impact analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with WebSphere Development Studio.
• Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
• Experience in EDI, data conversions, and server-to-server FTP automation.
