Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the setup, routine upkeep, adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairs on liquid filling production line machinery, including fillers, cappers, and labelers, as well as pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Essential Functions

  • Exhibit teamwork qualities through cooperation and coordination, maintaining professional interactions with all business contacts consistently.
  • Adhere to exceptional attendance standards, with a commitment to an eight-hour workday that may include additional hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Follow all safety program requirements, including hazard recognition, maintaining cleanliness, reporting accidents and near misses, proper use of safety equipment, and adherence to all safety regulations.
  • Change components and adjust production lines for various products as necessary.
  • Monitor production lines as time allows or as directed by supervisors.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions and operational challenges.
  • Perform necessary repairs and adjustments to resolve machine issues.
  • Clean fillers between product changes to ensure quality.
  • Make adjustments to fillers, cappers, and labelers as required.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding parts and equipment that require replacement.
  • Ensure proper torque fills and overall product quality by collaborating with quality control.
  • Conduct routine daily maintenance tasks such as greasing, oiling, and changing belts, as well as performing established periodic preventative maintenance.
  • Handle and store hazardous and flammable materials in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist lead operators in maintaining production flow, which may involve placing bottles on the line, packing, and assisting with labeling.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant maintenance or mechanical experience is required, or an Associate Degree in a related mechanical field.
Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic operations, and interpret drawings and schedules is essential, equivalent to two years of trade school.
Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids: Familiarity with fillers, cappers, labelers, banders, tape machines, unscramblers, drills, grinders, and various hand tools is necessary.
License(s)/Certification(s) Required: None specified.
Work Environment:
This position operates within a production setting. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines are routinely used. Workers are shielded from weather conditions but may experience temperature fluctuations that could cause discomfort. Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection is common, along with various physical conditions such as moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and high heat.
