Occupational Therapist Job Description

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Rehab Team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, administering, and documenting occupational therapy services to patients of all ages.

This role involves administering treatments per established plan of care to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. You will assist patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine "normal" life within the constraints of their disability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and reassess patients referred for occupational therapy services
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to supportive staff, including COTA, aides, and OT students
  • Participate in operational aspects of the department, maintain performance improvement activities, and contribute to continuous quality improvement
  • Provide input in formulating budget and assist in evaluating department performance versus budget controls
  • Ensure accurate and timely patient charges
Requirements:
  • Current state Occupational Therapy licensure
  • Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy program
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to function and excel in a team environment and relate positively to staff, patients, visitors, families, and physicians
  • Effective communication and writing skills
  • Valid DL and ability to travel to other hospital buildings, satellite clinic, and patients' homes or out of town
  • Computer skills to use e-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and electronic medical records
