Assistant Professor

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our team at Texas A&M AgriLife Research. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research in applied genetics and genomics as a team member of the statewide Texas A&M AgriLife Small Grains Research and Extension Program (SGREP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead research in applied genetics and genomics
  • Conduct research in crop-production systems, soil/water/nutrient management, and systems evaluation
  • Supervise scientific support staff and graduate students
  • Publish research results in high-quality, refereed journals
  • Develop and implement research projects
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in plant breeding, genetics, or closely related disciplines
  • Skilled at standard molecular biology, genomics techniques, and data analytics
  • Demonstrated capability to perform independent research and supervise scientific support staff and graduate students
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English
