About the Role

Nucor Steel Auburn is seeking a skilled Structural Fabricator to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for performing various fit-up and tacking operations on structural assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret weld symbols and follow weld procedures to ensure high-quality welds.
  • Add stiffeners, brackets, face plates, and other components using prints for location prior to finish welding.
  • Maintain necessary records and detect/report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
  • Perform other duties as required, including effectively communicating with upstream and downstream teams to address safety, quality, and efficiency issues.
Requirements
  • Experience with reading drawings, prints, and weld standards.
  • Experience using tools such as squares, clamps, and tape measures.
  • Ability to understand and convert decimal to fractions.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year prior experience in fabrication.
  • Previous crane certification.
  • Previous experience in material handling.
