Job Title: GIS Developer

Trillium Staffing is seeking a skilled GIS Developer to join our team in Richmond. As a GIS Developer, you will be responsible for creating and managing GIS maps, attributes, and associated mapping reports in support of our clients' applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced GIS support for our clients' programs, including creating and managing GIS maps, attributes, and associated mapping reports.
  • Work closely with our clients' program managers to take direction and create GIS maps, map attributes, and associated mapping reports.
  • Use ArcGIS to perform GIS duties, including creating and managing GIS maps, attributes, and associated mapping reports.
  • Utilize data submitted in Excel spreadsheets, databases, or other similar systems to create GIS maps and populate associated fields as per requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and support regarding all GIS mapping to/from our clients' systems.
Requirements:
  • BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or other related field with GIS experience.
  • 4-8 years of experience in GIS and GIS application development.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications.
  • Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving, verbal, and written communication, design, development, and debugging skills.
  • Must have experience in the development of complex analysis and mapping projects.
  • Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing.
  • Candidates shall demonstrate high competence in ESRI GIS software suite (Arc 10.x) including, but not limited to, a thorough knowledge of ArcSDE and ArcGIS Enterprise (server, portal, web adaptors, data stores).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and scripting tools, preferably Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Prior experience with LRS/GIS and working knowledge and experience with ESRI Roads & Highways or other similar systems is a plus.
  • Self-starter with a technical background in software and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in Reporting Tools such as Power BI is strongly desired.
