Job Title: UG Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled UG Operator to join our team at Southeast Utilities of Georgia, a Congruex company. As a UG Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner while working around existing utilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and maintain heavy equipment, including drill, minix, water truck, and mud vac
  • Fill water truck with water and confirm mud vac is empty
  • Assist in preparing materials for workday and potholing utilities
  • Dig entry and exit pits, and set up drill
  • Choose type of drill head to use based on soil conditions observed during potholing
  • Drill bore following instructions of locator, then pull product back once drilled out
  • Watch tailings to maintain correct flow
  • Assist in sweeping product into and setting peds
  • Restore area after completion of work
  • Load and unload drills and excavators
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards, including trip and fall hazards
Requirements:
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Trenching and excavation experience
  • Heavy equipment operation experience
  • Utility locating and marking experience
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
