We are seeking a highly skilled School Psychologist to join our team at Duval County Public School. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychological services to students experiencing learning, behavior, and emotional difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' learning and behavioral needs.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support student growth and development.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to design prevention and intervention strategies.
- Deliver in-service training to district and school-based staff on psychological services and student needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling activities to facilitate personal, social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Support crisis intervention services to students encountering severe emotional distress.
- Serve as a resource consultant on behavioral management, developmental processes, and mental health needs of students.
The ideal candidate will possess a Specialist degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university and completion of a 1200-hour internship in School Psychology. Florida Department of Education Certification as a Specialist in School Psychology is also required.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe successful candidate will have knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA), and test administration and interpretation. Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills are also essential.
