Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform specialized laboratory tests and analyses under minimal supervision, applying standard techniques and analytical principles.
  • Conduct daily quality control checks and ensure laboratory work meets set standards.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Mentor, train, and onboard previous level employees.
  • Participate in the interview and hiring process for prospective staff as requested by management.
  • Develop and implement new laboratory procedures and SOPs.
  • Contribute to laboratory coordination/management functions.
  • Oversee lab supplies inventory and assist with ordering.
  • Ensure waste management compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate files and records, preparing periodic reports as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science or Medical Technology.
  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license is mandatory.
  • Three (3) years' experience as a Lab Technologist with supervisory role experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Federal (CLIA) and NYS Regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with automated laboratory equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information Systems.
  • Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Highly proficient in training and mentoring.
  • Bilingual (English and Chinese) is preferred.
