About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Tech to join our team at AdventHealth. As a Behavioral Health Tech, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL) and provide support with daily routines.
  • Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Observe and record patient behaviors and activities, reporting changes to appropriate personnel and recommending treatment plan modifications.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with assigned patients and work collaboratively with patients, family members, physicians, and community providers to ensure continuous care.
  • May be required to manage daily group activities and assist patients with routine activities of daily living.
  • Recognize potential escalation of behavior and have the ability to use appropriate verbal and physical interventions.
  • Recognize potential safety hazards, intervene for the safety of patients, visitors, and staff, and notify appropriate department or person for correction of the problem.
  • Assist in restraint situations, utilizing de-escalation skills to prevent restraints, applying restraints when needed with RN direction, maintaining patient safety, and documenting patient behaviors and interventions.
Requirements
  • REQUIRED:
  • •BLS certification – must be obtained within 90 days of employment
  • •CNA certification if state applicable
  • •Formal De-escalation Training – must be obtained within 90 days of employment
  • Required Education:
  • High School Diploma Or equivalent
