Job Description:

The MRI iFlex Technologist is a key member of Intermountain's travel team, responsible for performing medical imaging examinations under the direction of a physician to assist in the medical diagnosis or treatment of illness or injury.

This position requires a high level of clinical skill, with the ability to demonstrate anatomical positioning competency and critique own films. The MRI iFlex Technologist must be able to complete studies within acceptable time limitations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of protocol relating to contrast administration, as well as the ability to troubleshoot MRI equipment and related information systems. A working knowledge of the MRI scanner, magnet, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and all relevant computer hardware and software is also required.

As a member of the travel team, the MRI iFlex Technologist will be expected to float to other facilities in the region if not needed at assigned facility. This position requires flexibility and a willingness to travel to different locations in Utah and Idaho for 8-13 week assignments.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI examinations per department protocol
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam
  • Understand cross sectional anatomy and demonstrates anatomical positioning competency
  • Critique own films
  • Complete studies within acceptable time limitations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination
  • Select proper scanning techniques and protocols in coordination with the radiologist
  • Administer intravenous contrast material to patients as ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision
  • Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
  • Understand and operate all MRI equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure that quality images are produced
Requirements:
  • Current ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, required
  • MR registered by ARRT, preferred
  • Current MRI license in state of practice (if working in Utah)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare providers
  • Minimum of one year trauma level hospital experience in MRI
  • IV Certification, preferred
