Role OverviewWe are looking for an exceptional candidate to fill a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Department of Estuarine and Ocean Sciences. This role offers a unique blend of research, teaching, and service opportunities that will enable you to make significant contributions to our vibrant academic community.
Responsibilities- Develop an independent research program with external funding
- Teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels
- Supervise students and postdoctoral researchers
- Participate in departmental, school, and university service
A Ph.D. in Marine Science, Oceanography, or a closely-related field is required. A strong record of research accomplishment, teaching experience, and commitment to mentoring are essential. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to build a strong research program with extramural support.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with academic, government, and industry partners
- Successful grant proposal submission and funding as a principal investigator
- Course development and student mentorship expertise
