Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Regency Hospitals, a division of Select Medical. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients and their families in coping with the unpredictability of illness within the hospital environment.
  • Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Teach and counsel patients/families.
  • Set goals and develop treatment plans.
  • Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
  • Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as supervise PT and PTA students.
  • Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
  • Monitor patient's response to treatment and modifying treatment during sessions, as needed.
  • Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate an understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each patient feels informed and understood, as well as heard.
  • Passionate about providing superior quality care and inventive problem solver who thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure or eligibility for a license in Physical Therapy.
  • Current State licensure (or eligibility for State licensure) required.
  • Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some supervisory experience is preferred.
