Job DescriptionThis full-time position involves providing nursing care and health education to students in a school setting. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or School Nursing from a regionally-accredited college or university, as well as relevant experience working with pediatric populations. A registered professional nurse (R.N.) designation, current licensure in the state of Delaware, and certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) are also required.
In addition to clinical expertise, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to work effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and other stakeholders. The ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations is also essential.
The selected candidate will be expected to meet the State of Delaware requirements for School Nurses, which includes possessing a valid R.N. license, maintaining continuing education units (CEUs), and adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care and health education to students in a school setting.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to ensure comprehensive student care.
- Maintain accurate records of student health information.
- Develop and implement individualized health plans for students with special needs.
- Participate in school health-related committees and initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or School Nursing from a regionally-accredited college or university.
- Minimum three years of supervised clinical nursing experience, preferably working with pediatric populations.
- Current licensure as a registered professional nurse (R.N.) in the state of Delaware.
- Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- State of Delaware requirements for School Nurses, including CEUs and adherence to regulations.
