Job Summary

The Department of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our research team as a Research Faculty member. This role will play a critical part in advancing our research in health equity, depression, and Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) in both symptomatic and asymptomatic stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in health equity, depression, and ADRD, with a focus on advancing our understanding of the long-term impact of brain pathology on driving behavior, the interplay between mental health and aging, and structural and social determinants of health.
  • Manage and supervise research projects, including personnel supervision, task delegation, decision-making, clear and effective communication, and data analyses, interpretation, and publication.
  • Collaborate with staff in the DRIVES Project and ARCHES Study to pursue research related to aging and ADRD, and work with other groups to identify new directions for research and formulate research protocols.
  • Develop and lead research projects, including submitting grant applications to obtain funding to support the research, and presenting and publishing research findings in appropriate forums.
  • Contribute to the development of the research program, including identifying new areas of research and developing research protocols.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field, such as neuroscience, psychology, or epidemiology.
  • Experience in research, including project management, personnel supervision, and data analysis.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and other researchers.
  • Ability to develop and lead research projects, including submitting grant applications and presenting research findings.
