Advanced Practice Nurse

Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is accountable for the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients in partnership with a supervising physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and provide treatment for patients experiencing common acute health issues, illnesses, or minor injuries in collaboration with a physician.
- Work alongside the physician to manage the healthcare needs of patients with chronic conditions.
- Diagnose and treat a range of acute, chronic, and long-term health concerns.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding preventive health measures, positive lifestyle choices, medical conditions, and the appropriate use of prescribed treatments and medications.
- Ensure the maintenance of clear, precise, and confidential medical records.
- Document all patient evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, educational efforts, and referrals accurately.
- Act as a Medical Examiner and conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations.
- Order necessary diagnostic tests as required.
- Prescribe medications within the limits of licensure.
- Facilitate the review of medical records by physicians and peers to uphold quality standards and protocols, and act on constructive feedback.
- Encourage preventive care and health maintenance, including annual check-ups, healthy behaviors, self-care practices, and adherence to prescribed treatments through education and counseling.
- Integrate new knowledge acquired from professional development opportunities into clinical practice.
- Maintain regular attendance to support efficient operations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist in managing patient flow through triage and other nursing responsibilities as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficient in utilizing Electronic Medical Records systems.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Self-motivated and flexible individual committed to delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with multiple physicians.
- Exhibit a positive demeanor and a "Patients First" approach.
- Prior experience in primary care, urgent care, or internal medicine is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Current licensure as a Certified Registered Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) or as a Physician Assistant (PANCE).
