Job Overview:
As the Logistics Operations Supervisor, you will oversee various priorities in a customer-focused setting. Your leadership will guide a diverse team, which may include Operations Associates, Drivers, and Administrative Coordinators. You will collaborate with internal departments such as Sales and engage with external customer support to ensure exceptional service delivery through order fulfillment and effective problem resolution. Your role will involve monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance service quality, and you may be responsible for managing personnel in a unionized setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operational aspects of the facility, ensuring timely order fulfillment and shipping, efficient receiving processes, and effective working capital management.
- Manage a facility that may utilize multiple warehouse management systems and provide diverse customer value-added services.
- Foster a safe, secure, and inclusive work environment.
- Lead, coach, mentor, recruit, and train team members, including managing performance.
- Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and audit standards, including internal controls and quality management systems.
- Manage profit and loss statements to align with financial plans.
- Implement efficiency improvements within the facility using LEAN methodologies.
- Maintain readiness standards for facility tours.
- Ensure regular maintenance of the facility and all operational equipment.
- Align facility capabilities with customer expectations by collaborating with sales professionals and leadership.
- Work closely with support departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources, and Finance.
- Participate in the development of annual budgets for the facility.
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, particularly in distribution center environments, is preferred.
Proven experience in managing teams and indirectly supervising support staff.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint).
Strong communication skills for both group and individual interactions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Work Environment:
The work is primarily conducted in a warehouse setting, characterized by moderate noise levels and adequate ventilation. Employees may encounter various weather conditions and may be required to wear protective gear. Operation of heavy machinery may be necessary, and strict safety regulations will be enforced.
