Mercy General Hospital is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in an Inpatient Physical Therapy position. This role will be based in the Acute Rehab Unit (ARU), a licensed Inpatient Rehabilitation facility (IRF).
Key Responsibilities- Manage patients recovering from neurological impairments such as stroke, SCI/TBI, and other conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and effective discharge planning.
- Conduct evaluations, treatments, and discharge planning, as well as provide family training and equipment prescription.
- Float to various units as needed, pending census, to ensure optimal patient care.
- BLS certification is required.
- PT license is required.
- Experience in Acute Rehab Level of Care (IRF) is preferred.
- Ability to work with patients with neurological diagnoses, such as stroke, SCI, TBI, and others.
- Competence in managing patients with various conditions, including spine surgeries, poly-ortho trauma, prolonged hospitalization/debility, and acute surgical, oncology, and med/tele conditions.
Monday-Friday, 8-4:30. One Saturday per month is required. If a holiday falls on a weekday, the Physical Therapist is required to work unless prior arrangements are made. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day are not required workdays.
Additional Details- Modules are required to be completed before the start of the assignment and take approximately 3-4 hours to complete (time not billable).
- Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's).
