Electrical Engineer Job Description

Planate Management Group is a leading provider of program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the conceptual design, review, and stamping of electrical drawings. They will also lead construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews. Additionally, they will provide quality assurance for ongoing projects and serve as a mentor to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and approve electrical design plans and work schedules.
  • Lead construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews.
  • Provide quality assurance for ongoing projects.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior engineers.
  • Support the Contract management and Planning divisions with scope, programming, and scheduling definition.
  • Develop cost estimates and time schedules.
  • Review and analyze preliminary and final designs, plans, and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.
  • Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications.
  • Prepare necessary correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets, and status reports.
  • Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering software to perform engineering tasks.
  • Keep current with the latest technical innovations in electrical engineering.
  • Assist with recruitment, training, and onboarding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous experience working on US Government and Military domestic and international projects preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer required.
  • Maximum 10 years in construction management/design preferably working on power generation or UPS.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking, project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, excellent multi-tasking skills, and motivational skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques and practice.
  • Able to problem solve and troubleshoot as needed.
