We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Student Assistance Program Counselor to join our team at Community Services, Inc. As a key member of our staff, you will provide critical support to adolescents and their families through individual and group counseling, education, and consultation services.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Counseling: Conduct thorough assessments of students and families to identify needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Group Counseling and Education: Design and lead educational groups, programs, and awareness activities to promote substance use prevention and mental health awareness.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with school staff, community professionals, and other stakeholders to provide consultation and support services.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records of client progress and compile reports as required.
- Staff Development and Training: Participate in ongoing staff development and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Education: Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum one year of post-master's professional level work experience in mental health or substance abuse counseling, with a focus on working with adolescents.
- Licensure: New York State license required, CASAC preferred.
- Skills: Strong assessment and counseling skills, ability to work effectively with adolescents and their families, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competitive Salary: Annual salary range of $58,500 - $60,000.
- Exempt Position: Full-time, exempt position with a 10.50-month work schedule.
