Grand River Medical Group is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Dubuque, IA. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality radiographic images to assist clinicians in diagnosing and treating patients.
The ideal candidate will be committed to working in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing their workload, and providing exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for explaining procedures to patients, obtaining patient histories, and taking images per established routines.
This is a PRN (as needed) position, and you will be required to cover available Radiology shifts at various locations. Duties include:
- Producing general radiography images under minimal supervision for interpretation by radiologists.
- Evaluating radiographs/images for technical quality and acquiring previous images not completed at GRMG.
- Explain procedures to patients, obtain patient histories, and prepare patients for radiographic images.
- Applying radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations.
- Looking up information, ordering correct exams, and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Monitoring patient safety and comfort during procedures and initiating life support if necessary.
- Maintaining radiography imaging equipment in good condition and reporting equipment malfunctions to the department manager.
- Keeping work areas clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
- Maintaining accurate charge tickets and verifying clinicians have ordered the correct exams in the electronic medical record.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program.
- Minimum one year of Radiology Tech experience - preferred.
- Must be a certified Radiology Tech (ARRT)(R) with an active permit to practice in Iowa - required.
- Mammography board certification (ARRT(R)(M)) - preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - required.
- Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance - required.
