Naturalist Guide

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Naturalist Guide to join our team at Alaska Mountain Guides. As a Naturalist Guide, you will be responsible for leading groups of guests on wilderness expeditions, providing educational and informative tours, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

• Lead groups of guests on wilderness expeditions, providing educational and informative tours about the local environment, history, and flora and fauna.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all guests, including children and individuals with disabilities.
• Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the local environment, including geology, botany, and wildlife.
• Provide excellent customer service, responding to guest needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
• Collaborate with other guides and staff to ensure seamless execution of tours and expeditions.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new tour and expedition programs.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in environmental science, education, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience leading groups in wilderness settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Physical ability to hike and carry equipment in rugged terrain.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• First aid and CPR certification.

Work will be performed in a variety of outdoor settings, including wilderness areas, national parks, and other remote locations. Guides will be required to hike and carry equipment in rugged terrain, and may be exposed to inclement weather conditions.
