About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team at Panther Interstate Carriers Inc. As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with trucks' performance and function, including engine, transmission, and brake systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake replacements, to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of our vehicles.
  • Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections to identify potential issues and recommend preventative maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and operations managers to provide timely and accurate information about vehicle status and repair timelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed repair shop records and paperwork to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our drivers and ensure a high level of satisfaction with our maintenance services.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or completion of a diesel service technician training program preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with a strong background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
