Nurse Manager Position

At Monument Health, we are seeking a skilled Nurse Manager to lead our clinical teams and drive exceptional patient care. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for creating a safe and healthy environment that supports the work of our healthcare professionals and contributes to patient engagement.

The Nurse Manager will oversee the daily operations of our direct care units, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial Management: Maximize care efficiency and throughput, create and monitor budgets in collaboration with the Director of Nursing Unit.
  • Human Resource Management: Evaluate staffing patterns and needs, facilitate methods to match staff competency with patient acuity, manage human resources within the scope of labor laws, and apply recruitment techniques to select and hire candidates who reflect Monument Health values.
  • Performance Improvement: Evaluate, share, and respond to outcome measurements of identified key performance indicators, assess all customer experiences, and develop strategies to address concerns in a constructive manner.
  • Technology: Understand the effects of IT on patient care and delivery systems, use information to reduce workload and support business decisions into patient care processes.
  • Strategic Management: Implement change/project management strategies, assist with the development of contingency plans for disasters or emergencies, and execute plans as needed.

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) certification from the South Dakota Board of Nursing
  • 1+ years of management experience and 1+ years of registered nurse experience
  • Preferred certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
