Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the Company's Damage Prevention Program for Massachusetts Electric Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, monitoring, managing, and ensuring compliance with the program's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and implement best practices for public awareness programs, field execution, employee training, work processes, and documentation.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement automation tools to optimize work schedules, resource allocation, budget adherence, and quality control.
  • Develop and support work practices that are compliant with Eversource policies, procedures, and standards, as well as federal, state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities and ensure proper reporting of all underground incidents.
  • Manage and provide functional and administrative direction to all supervisors and team leaders responsible for administering the Damage Prevention Program.
  • Oversee all aspects of the damage control and compliance program areas while remaining fully compliant and within budgetary limitations.
  • Lead and integrate all studies, analyses, and planning in support of continuous improvement of the Damage Prevention Program.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on compliance programs for internal parties and external agencies.
  • Manage and ensure operational enhancements meet pre-determined objectives concerning quality, technical specifications, reliability, schedule, and budget.
  • Identify and evaluate new technology to improve damage prevention programs.
  • Oversee the management, development, and selection of area staff.
  • Manage the development and implementation of safety and training programs to ensure continued employee growth and development.
  • Monitor department performance and recommend to management any process changes, cost, and resource adjustments that are required to meet company objectives.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in a manner consistent with the Company's safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure that improvements in systems, processes, and procedures are identified and implemented.
  • Analyze CBYD violation data and make recommendations.
  • May provide testimony and represent Company at DPU hearings, technical meetings, as well as inspections and audits.
  • Actively participate, as required, on committees, task forces, or work groups representing the Company's industry interests and locating best practices.
Requirements
  • Requires thorough knowledge of damage prevention techniques, code requirements, and management.
  • Also requires knowledge of design and construction of electric distribution and transmission facilities and equipment, as well as the codes and regulations that govern the operation and maintenance of the electric distribution and transmission systems.
  • Requires strong administrative, communication, and leadership skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education and Experience
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years managing or supervising groups engaged in electric operations and compliance management.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, integrating, and completing projects that enhance safety, system reliability, and organizational efficiency.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.
  • The annual salary range for this position is $142,700.00 to $158,600.00, plus incentive.
Working Conditions
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires sitting, standing, and general movement throughout the office area.

  • Work involves calculating, comparing, technical writing, editing, planning, evaluating, interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, designing, documenting, specifying, coordinating, implementing, and presenting.
  • This role works in an environment that often requires the performance of multiple simultaneous activities, where deadlines need to be met, and work is performed under pressure while involving significant business commitments and results.
