Key Responsibilities:

The individual must consistently perform the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ensure the health and well-being of live animals by providing appropriate care according to established standards.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all stakeholders, emphasizing company interests.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers by identifying their needs and sharing product knowledge.
  • Demonstrate expertise in nutrition and effective sales techniques to enhance customer engagement.
  • Ensure an outstanding customer experience across all service channels.
  • Manage all aspects of point-of-sale transactions, including cash and credit sales.
  • Assist in stocking and organizing merchandise according to established guidelines.
  • Complete cash register transactions and assist with customer carry-out services.
  • Adhere to loss prevention protocols.
  • Support the loading, unloading, and stocking of merchandise to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure that store animals receive the highest quality care in a clean and secure environment.
  • Notify management immediately if any animal requires medical attention.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks to maintain a professional store appearance.
  • Assist store management with opening and closing procedures as needed.
  • Participate in periodic inventory counts.
  • Promote and adhere to safety procedures to maintain a healthy environment for staff, customers, and animals.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

None.

Work Environment:

The majority of job duties are performed indoors, with some tasks requiring brief outdoor activity. This position involves bending, kneeling, moving merchandise, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver heavier items with appropriate equipment. Adherence to safety protocols is essential to prevent injury.
