Overview

This job opportunity is for designated Student Assistants who are keen on providing tutoring services in the Center for Anatomy & Physiology throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students in recognizing and addressing their understanding of subject matter.
  • Encourage and guide students towards self-sufficient learning by recommending effective study techniques and practices conducive to academic success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions.
  • Engage students with open-ended questions to foster active participation.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards.
  • Help sustain an appropriate noise level and cleanliness within the center.
  • Collaborate with professional and peer tutors to provide mutual support.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Continuously reflect on and enhance tutoring methods by researching effective strategies during downtime.
  • Report any issues to the Manager, Academic Operation Coordinator, and Department Chair, as well as document on tutor reports.
  • Ensure the center remains a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures established by the Center for Anatomy & Physiology Resource Room.
Qualifications
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
  • Achieved A grades in Anatomy Physiology I and Anatomy Physiology II.
Requirements
  • Must provide a letter of recommendation from an Anatomy and Physiology instructor.
  • Availability to work on campus is essential.

  • Will interact with staff, students, and the public in various capacities.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students, including those with disabilities.
