PET/CT Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented PET/CT Technologist to join our team at Akumin Operating Corp. As a PET/CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality diagnostic images and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct PET/CT scans and produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Troubleshoot equipment and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Train new technologists and contribute to the development of the team
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required
  • State license, as required
  • CPR certification required
  • Ability to work at multiple locations and travel locally
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
Physical Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. The employee will be exposed to radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation. May be exposed to radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.

More than 50% of the time:

  • Sit, stand, walk
  • Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs
  • See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients

Less than 50% of the time:

  • Stoop, kneel, or crawl
  • Climb and balance
  • Carry and lift non-ambulatory patients
