Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic position at Magnetic Technologies Corporation is a critical role that requires a highly skilled and versatile individual to perform a wide range of duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Emergency Repairs and Scheduled Maintenance: Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Skills: Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to prevent downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Tool Operation and Safety: Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties, adhering to all safety policies and identifying and reporting unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Certification and Education: Certificate in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred; high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc., with precision; ability to work on teams or alone; ability to read and perform basic mathematics; basic computer skills.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and/or move minimum 75 pounds for most machinery; position is very active, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • Environmental Factors: May be exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust, and fumes; production floor is not temperature controlled year-round.
