PGS Worldwide is currently in search of a proficient Obsolescence Engineering Specialist for Electrical Components to provide support for missile initiatives by addressing IRAD and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) challenges for a prominent player in the Aerospace sector. This role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with flexible remote work options and competitive compensation for qualified candidates. Contractors will need to secure a Secret security clearance during their tenure.

Position Overview:

  • Deliver Components Engineering assistance for missile projects by tackling IRAD and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) challenges.
  • Oversee Components Engineering tasks related to obsolescence, standardization, engineering data definition, creation of part standards, procurement control requirements, quality issue resolution, and process enhancements.
  • Act as a liaison among part suppliers, procurement teams, LM clients, and subcontractors.
  • Responsibilities include addressing obsolescence challenges, preventing counterfeits, generating client reports, part substitutions, second source part qualifications, preparing part procurement specifications, and resolving issues related to development and production parts.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in electrical component manufacturing processes, Failure Analysis, Circuit Failure Mode Analysis, and physical property analysis.
  • Background in Components Engineering with expertise in electronic components and devices at both integrated circuit and discrete levels.
  • Familiarity with new component releases and their qualification processes.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with DMSMS.
  • Knowledge of component-related failure issues, pure tin challenges, and counterfeit part detection.
