Perfusion Specialist

ChristianaCare, a leading healthcare provider in the Mid-Atlantic region, is seeking a skilled Perfusionist to join our dynamic Cardiac Surgery team at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE.

• Review patient medical history and chart to ensure accurate and efficient care.
• Determine, assemble, and monitor equipment needed for cardiopulmonary bypass and other extracorporeal life support procedures.
• Monitor patients' blood temperature, composition, and flow rate to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Implement clinically efficient blood salvaging techniques to minimize waste and optimize patient care.
• Monitor blood gas and blood chemistry to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment.
• Manage anticoagulation and hematological analysis to prevent complications.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and enforcement of administrative and clinical policies and procedures.
• Participate in meetings, seminars, and committees to stay up-to-date on best practices and advancements in the field.

• Graduate of an accredited Perfusion program.
• Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or board eligible with certification received within 18 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
