Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Pilot

The Pilot-In-Command plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft, adhering to established protocols and regulations while following Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

This role is stationed at our designated air base in Colorado.
Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe operation of aircraft in compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies.
- Exhibit independent critical thinking during preflight preparations and in-flight operations.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of aviation regulations and operational procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members, medical personnel, and patients, ensuring clarity in decision-making processes.
- Ensure the aircraft is maintained in a clean and operational state, promoting safety for all involved.
- Assess transport situations based on established criteria and guidelines.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the education of fellow team members.
- Assist medical crew with various tasks, including patient handling and equipment management.
- When serving as Lead Pilot, oversee satellite base operations and ensure adherence to established protocols.
- As an Instructor or Check Pilot, evaluate flight performance and contribute to training programs.
- Act as a Safety Representative, addressing safety concerns and participating in safety committee initiatives.
- Commercial pilot certificate with appropriate ratings or ATP certificate with multi-engine land rating.
- Minimum of 2500 flight hours in airplanes.
- 200 flight hours logged at night.
- 300 instrument flight hours, with at least 100 in actual instrument conditions.
- 500 Pilot in Command hours in multi-engine aircraft.
- 500 Pilot in Command hours in turbine aircraft.
- Experience as a Fixed Wing Pilot in Command in an EMS setting.
- Experience in emergency medical services.
- 100 hours of PIC time in King Air 90/200.
- 50 hours of PIC time in PC-12.
Engagement with others necessitates effective verbal communication and the ability to comprehend spoken information.

Ability to manage and transport aviation and clinical equipment, including lifting heavy items.

Capable of transferring patients, which may involve lifting and carrying various supplies and equipment, with a minimum lifting requirement of 50 lbs.

Expected to maintain stationary positions for extended periods and navigate stairs to and from aircraft.
- and -
Ability to operate aviation equipment and tools requiring dexterity and hand movement.
- and -
Visual acuity to read instruments and documents.
- and -
Mobility to move in confined spaces within the aircraft.
Pilots are subject to ongoing random drug testing as per DOT/FAA regulations.
