Job Summary:

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a skilled Water Jet Operator to join our team at Klune North Hollywood. As a Water Jet Operator, you will be responsible for operating water jet machinery to cut and shape complex components and assemblies for the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Water Jet Machinery: Set up and operate water jet machinery according to work instructions and cut programs to ensure accurate and efficient cutting of components.
  • Material Handling: Safely load and unload materials using a crane, ensuring proper placement and alignment to prevent damage or injury.
  • Quality Control: Conduct in-process inspections using basic inspection hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and pin gauges to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on water jet equipment, including the pump, head, and fluids, to ensure optimal machine performance. Identify and address basic operational issues and perform intermediate troubleshooting based on an understanding of cut programs, flow rates, and media requirements.
  • Programming and Setup: Execute basic programming tasks for the water jet machine to achieve desired cutting results and set up the machine according to work instructions and cut programs.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in water jet operation, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical training in water jet operation or related fields beneficial.
  • Skills: Proficiency in operating water jet machinery, understanding of water jet cutting principles, ability to safely handle and manipulate materials, skilled in using inspection hand tools, strong grasp of basic shop math, and basic knowledge of water jet machine maintenance.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises, dust, and other hazardous materials. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 35lbs and work in a team environment.
