Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at Congressional Federal. As a Senior Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for overseeing the work of mortgage underwriters, analyzing loan applications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loan Review and Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of loan applications to ensure compliance with company and investor guidelines.
  • Supervision and Coaching: Supervise and coach mortgage underwriters to ensure they are meeting performance standards and adhering to company policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all loan applications and underwriting decisions are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including quality control and compliance, to ensure that all loan applications are properly reviewed and approved.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to mortgage underwriters to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate and influence others.
